What To Expect

Visiting a church can be daunting, but we don’t want you to feel that way. So, what can you expect on a visit to Abbeyfield Community Church?

We meet on Sunday mornings at 10.30am, and again in the evening at 6:30pm. If you’re wondering, we normally dress smart-casual.

Mornings

On a morning, you will receive a warm welcome at the door, and will have a chance to meet and talk to our friendly congregation before the service starts.

Our services include a time of worship and prayer, a reading from the Bible, and then a 30-40 minute sermon. Typically, the third Sunday of the month will include a time of Communion. The service usually finishes before 12 noon.

During the sermon, 5-11 year olds leave the main service and go to their group. Find out more about what they get up to here. They re-join us at the end of the service. There is also a creche available throughout the service.

Afterwards, hot and cold drinks are served with biscuits or cake as we enjoy a time of fellowship together.

Evenings

In the evenings, our focus shifts towards prayer and worship. These services tend to be more interactive as we come together to pray for each other and wider situations. It’s a chance to come before our Lord and Saviour and see His Spirit move. The services usually finish around 7.30pm. A typical monthly schedule for the evening meetings looks like this:

Week 1 – Communion Service

Week 2 – Prayer and Worship Evening

Week 3 – Intercessory Prayer Meeting

Week 4 and 5 – Prayer and Worship Evenings

We go on to celebrate life together throughout the week. We run specific ministry and mission projects to get involved with. Please speak to Pastor Dave directly, or contact us, to find out more.
